Job
Description:
The
candidate will brainstorm with the staff to develop fundable ideas, write
proposals to support those ideas, and generally function as a
leader
in the area of novel device design, fabrication, and testing based on
new materials combinations.
Specific functions include:
1)
Perform top-down conceptual design of circuits & devices based
on hybrid substrates of wide bandgap semiconductors, i.e. SiC or
GaN with Si, GaAs, InP, InSb etc.
2)
Perform bottom-up design of circuits and devices for fabrication and
testing utilizing novel materials combinations.
3)
Write proposals to fund 1 and 2, above.
4)
Design masks, fabricate devices in the clean room, package devices
as necessary, test the DC, AC and/or RF
characteristics of the devices.
5)
Brainstorm with staff regarding these topics and others as necessary.
6)
Interface with customers and suppliers.
Required
qualifications for position:
1)
US Citizenship.
2)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3)
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or
related field.
4)
Experience with CAD, clean room processing, and device testing.

Desired
qualifications for position:
1)
Principal Investigator in previously funded government programs.
2)
Experience writing research proposals for government agencies.
3) Ability to work on multiple projects
simultaneously
4)
Publications and presentations related to 1&2 in Job Description.
5)
Security Clearance.
6)
Love of small-group R&D with expectations to grow
with dynamic young company.
